Shelter Hat

Shelterhat

This is a mockup of a 9"x9" screen print called, due to brain-friedness, "Shelter Hat."  It's for an exchange folio for class, but I might sell a few on the side if I make enough.  I feel like my eyes are about to bleed from staring at the computer screen so much.

I combined these ugly old shoes from Target and this H&M shirt that never really fit:

and made these:
Shirtshoe2
Hell yeah, new shoes!  They were inspired by these Calvin Kleins I've been eyeing.

unintentional self-portrait

I drew these twins juggling unlit matches on Thursday, and my classmates thought it was a self portrait.

Unintentionalselfportrait
Let's see... pale skin?  Check.  Frizzy brown hair?  Check.  Bags under the eyes and pointy nose?  Check and check.  Low self-esteem?  My boyfriend says "no".  I'm terrible at juggling but awesome at hula-hooping.

Look they're escaping!  I always notice these when I walk past my neighbor's apartment.

My childhood friend Cara and I had this habit of yelling "creeper alert!" every time we saw some particularly fantastic creeping plants covering a building.  I can't really explain it beyond that, but maybe it scared the pedophiles away, too?  I still whisper it to myself sometimes in an OCD way.
Labor
This painting is turning out very velvety, with areas of dark gloss.  This is the upper right corner of the painting, with swampy bits.

Well, I Did It

Four studios and one lecture is a lot for one semester, and I'm proud to say I made it through!  I even made something out of clay that I don't plan to immediately throw in a dumpster (but I can't show you that right now).  This is a "CMYK" print-- sort of:

 Fastfood002

Mostly it's a print done from a rubylith cut, with some little sprinkles of cyan, magenta, yellow, and key.  Unfortunately, I misplaced the rubylith, otherwise I would burn another screen and do this print without the CMYK.  The cat is eating something fancy like Fancy Feast, and the girl on roller-skis is eating caviar, of course, couldn't you tell?
Cavi
If you squint your eyes just the right way-- no?  Well, shit.
Maybe this painting will distract you:
Dogboat
It's 20"x16", painted with acrylic on wood panel and I'm not in love with it.  That's all I can really say.  I just need to keep trying.
